Send your eyes to the gym
Did you know that eyes can be exercised? With a new year around the corner, we consulted our opticians to ask them for advice on keeping your eyes healthy all the way through 2022 – and beyond.
Get your body healthy
Ocular health is part of your overall well-being, so why not start with some physical activity that’ll get your whole body moving. It’s not only an excellent way to maintain both your mental and physical health, but it’s also a great opportunity to step away from your screens and give your eyes a well-deserved rest.
Strive for 20-20-20 vision
If you’ve never heard of it, the 20-20-20 rule is an easily remembered exercise tip for your eyes. It goes like this: for every 20 minutes in front of a screen, take a 20-second break and shift your gaze to 20 feet away to relieve eye strain.

Take things into your own hands
Literally. Another good way to give your eyes some rest is to cup your palms over your eyes (make sure not to apply any pressure). Once it's completely dark, breathe slowly and deliberately in and out for one or two minutes.
All in all, the rule of thumb is to allow yourself regular breaks from staring at one of the multiple screens that fill our lives! Spending time outdoors is also a good way to reduce stress and alleviate eye fatigue.
From everyone at BonLook, we wish you a joyous and healthy New Year!
