Layer Up
If you’re heading out for the day, wear a light top or t-shirt and layer a cardigan or sweater on top, which you can remove later if the weather warms up. A decorative scarf can also provide lightweight coverage while adding visual interest to your look—and it’s easy to stuff into your bag if you get too hot.
Go Light
Not only should you be opting for lighter layers, but you can also choose a lighter colour palette when it comes to your wardrobe. Pair a white blouse with a darker pullover or add a pop of colour to your outfit through accessories or a bright makeup accent.
Change Your Frames
Another way to update your look for spring is through eyewear: choose styles in lighter colours or barely-there metals that will brighten up both your outfit and your complexion. And don’t forget that a bold pair of sunglasses can completely transform your look.
Try Tights
Trade in your regular black tights for a lighter, brighter hue to add a pop of colour to your look. You can also move toward sheerer models which feel more seasonally appropriate, pairing them with everything from thick skirts and denim shorts to flowy floral dresses.
Switch Up Your Footwear
Put aside your heavy winter boots (until the next snowstorm, at least!) and slip on some ankle boots, sneakers, or—weather permitting—stylish loafers. This is also your chance to have fun with chunky, colourful socks before the arrival of sandal season.
