It can be overwhelming to try to pinpoint the best spots in a sprawling city, so we’ve compiled a short but indispensable list of our favourite coffee shops in TO. You’re welcome.
Nutbar, in Summerhill
The best spot for nutmilk beverages and smoothies, this health-conscious café is the perfect post-spinning treat (it’s right next door to Spinco!). Their avocado toast is unrivalled and the elegant, muted decor is the perfect setting for a restful pause.
Brodflour, in Liberty Village
This one is all about delicious baked goods, including heavenly homemade bread – which, if we might recommend, you should enjoy with a latte. There’s a reason Brodflour has built a cult following; everything is delicious and the place is decidedly photogenic.
Pilot Roasters, in Trinity-Bellwoods
Now with 8 locations across the city, this chain started with a little spot in Leslieville and has grown into one of the city’s top references for coffee aficionados. The Ossington Ave location is a particularly great start to an afternoon of people watching, vintage shopping, or gallery hopping on Queen West!
Surf the Greats, in Leslieville
You can’t beat this café nestled in an actual surf shop… in the heart of the city! Serving locally roasted beans, smoothies and açaí bowls, this unusual space will make you want to ride the wave – 3rd or otherwise.
Jacked Up Coffee, Yorkville
The little blue truck parked outside the entrance to Yorkville Village makes some of the city’s best espressos. Perfect for fuelling up while browsing around Yorkville, we’re keeping our fingers crossed that it keeps on rolling for many years to come.
