Self-proclaimed brunch addict Anne-Lovely shares her favourite spots and advice for a memorable brunch worthy of Sex and the City.
Why has brunch become a thing?
It’s the perfect moment when you can have your favourite meal (breakfast!) and at the same time have a glass of mimosa!
What are your go-to spots?
Arthur’s for their amazing pancakes, Sofitel for their mimosas, or Maison Boulud (because I’m a bougie).
What’s on the menu at your dream brunch?
A lot of pancakes! Different kinds like matcha, ricotta, or lemon, and also a lot of meat because I’m a meat lover, sorry vegans!
Sweet or salty?
Can I say both?
Coffee or tea?
Coffee, definitely! I’m addicted to it!
Sunny side up, scrambled or poached eggs?
It’s very simple! I HATE eggs!
What makes a brunch memorable?
When it lasts until 2-3-4 p.m., and you get home, and you don’t want to go out anymore because you had too much fun!
What do we talk about during brunch?
Of course, we talk about love and relationships! Duh! Like they did in Sex and the City around pancakes!
Brunch for a date: yes or no?
Yes, of course, because it’s short and sweet!
A drink with brunch: yes or no?
It’s absolutely yes!
Dressed up or casual?
If I’m going to Sofitel or Maison Boulud, of course, you need to be EXTRA. It’s my third name, Anne-Lovely Extra.
Friendship, seen by Karl Hardy
Karl is wearing the Divine in Gold.
Karl shares the importance of taking care of your friends and talks to us about, among other things, friendships with exes.
What does friendship mean to you?
I'm not super close to my family, so I chose my own family from a very young age. Friendship is extremely precious and important to me. It saved my life many times, during good and bad times. Friendship has always kept me going. It sounds deep and intense, but it's absolutely true!
How many real friends do you have?
I'm able to count them on a single hand. I'd say 4 or 5, even 5 might be a bit generous. I'm sorry to everyone who thought we were close. My friends listen to me complain every day!
What do you most like doing with your friends?
The thing I most love doing with my friends is traveling and creating unique memories together. For instance, my friend Camille and I made a list of countries and cities we want to visit during our lifetimes, and we're checking them off one by one!
You get arrested... who do you call, your mom or your bestie?
Sorry mom, but I'm calling a friend! It's nothing against you, but you're very emotional, and I prefer someone who can help me find solutions!
Is it possible to be friends with an ex?
I think it's necessary for a break to happen before a friendship with an ex can exist. Honestly, it feels very healing to know that you're not on bad terms with your ex.
A huge thanks to Karl and Anne-Lovely for their time and participation!
