First off, what is a COO? Can you tell us a little about what the day or week in the life of a COO looks like?
Essentially, my role in the organization is to ensure that the company has established the necessary processes to provide our customers with the best possible experience from start to finish. For the most part, my weeks are spent solving problems (or putting out fires), putting improvements to the business in place, and strategizing.
What aspects of the optical industry were you initially drawn to? What about this field continues to drive and inspire you?
The optical industry appealed to me because of the role it plays in people’s lives. Vision is an important part of people's lives, and so helping people see better affordably and stylishly fuels my passion.
What role does fashion play in your personal life? Would your younger self find it surprising that you’re thriving in this industry?
I am someone who prioritizes looking good and presenting myself properly. Still, if I'm honest, I am more drawn to the medical side of this business rather than the fashion aspect. That being said, it doesn't surprise me that I've watched my career grow in this field because fashion is only one part of it, not the entire thing.
What inspires you? Who are your current role models in innovation, technology, retail, or customer service?
I am continually inspired by the innovators transforming their industries. These leaders are providing their consumers with unmatched value and are shaking things up and changing how we do things. I am a massive admirer of the work that Tesla, Apple, Shopify, Amazon and even IKEA are doing in their respective industries.
How would you describe the spirit of BonLook? Has your vision for the future of BonLook changed much since the company was founded? And has it changed drastically following the events of 2020?
In my opinion, BonLook is all about offering a high-quality product and service at an unbeatable price. We're different in some ways, as our company provides both a service and a product to our customers. Moreover, the product we offer is a fashion accessory as it is a necessary tool for better vision. By excelling in all these areas—the medical, fashion, and customer service/experience aspects—we will ensure our success as a company. To me, this vision hasn't changed one bit, even since the start of the pandemic.
